I SAW A PICTURE

I saw a picture the other day, it said so much to me that it made me cry and I wanted to pray
In that picture stood a man, and the door before him
was closed tight like a can
I could not see what was stopping this man;
He stood quite still, like he had a plan
He knocked and knocked and waited so patiently, oh the look on his face was beautiful and there for all the world to see
I could not understand at all why the other person
Wasnt opening the door
Then like a dream I could see the other side,
the person in there did run and hide
It seemed they were to scared to answer the call
For all around them you could see possessions
that would make them fall.
And every time that the man knocked again,
this person seemed to express a deep sense of pain,
thats when this man knocked yet again
It all seemed so strange to me, why could all this I see
And then my senses came alive full force;
it was me I was looking at, of course
I knew that there were many things that clouded my life
I knew I was in terrible strife
And then I heard that knock once more,
someone was standing at my hearts door
I slowly moved through the things in my life,
those things that caused me so much strife
I found that they seemed to disappear as I moved
to open the door of that man so dear
When I got to the door and turned around,
no clutter in my life could be found
So I opened the door to a glorious light,
and experienced a wonderfully powerful site.
I asked him in and he looked at me, simply saying,
now my friend from sin you are free.
At that moment I fell to my knees knowing
that Jesus had simply forgiven me.
So when you hear a knock at your hearts door,
dont despair open it for sure
I know that your life will change for the good,
even though you think that it never could.
Since allowing God into my life all my troubles seem small,
simply by answering his precious call.

The Cross.

It was nothing spectacular, it was nothing to great
But on the day that Jesus carried it, it became our eternal gate.

A gate that would allow us to be at peace with God,
once we understood the road that our precious Jesus had trod.

He endured so much for each and every one,
oh they really didnt understand that he was indeed Gods one and only Son.

They placed him at the mercy of the crowds that day, and oh how the faithful followers just wanted him to stay.

But Jesus knew that God indeed did have a plan, and that mankind wouldnt until later, fully understand.

So they whipped him and hurled abuse his way, it was sickening to hear the crowds while Jesus was on display.
They wanted to see him crucified; they wanted him whipped so hard that he died.

Jesus was aware of all that went on, and he knew that his life would one day be a sweet life changing song.
He let them push him along that road that day, he knew that his life on earth was somewhere he could no longer stay.

He knew that his imminent death meant eternal life to all mankind, but sadly for many, this eternal life they would never find.

When he reached the hill and was placed on the cross, we here on earth were about to experience a terrible terrible loss.
The pain and suffering he endured, the cruel nails in his hands, the cross on which he hung stood out against the land.

Little did we know that in all this suffering and pain, our Lord Jesus would for all eternity reign.

You see so much was defeated that day upon the cross, Jesus dying there we no longer counted as a loss.
It was in fact a victory for you and for me, and Jesus in our hearts we can now forever see.

He gave us the opportunity to have life eternally, we just have to take him in our hearts and live so thankfully.

So as you gaze upon the cross and understand his love, be joyful and accepting for he is watching from above.

He loves you oh so deeply, and his richness becomes ours, for Jesus is now raised and he lives above the clouds. He doesnt want you to worry or cry for him anymore, he is our certain future and to him we should adore.

So lift your heads to Jesus and ask him in your hearts, he wants to give you life eternal, thats how it starts.
He died and rose again so we could be filled with love, a love thats very special from our master up above.

He wants you to sing songs of joy and praise, because Jesus up from the grave he did raise. He wants you to know that he is here for all time, he is your Saviour, yes yours and mine.
